The development

Wellness Purification and Enhancement

The first step to create healthy water is to cleanse it of unwanted impurities. The Wellness process uses a variety of filtration media to achieve this and, unlike reverse osmosis or distillation, Wellness retains beneficial, acid buffering minerals including magnesium, calcium and potassium.

These minerals are always found in natural springs and they are a key requirement for healthy water

Activated Coconut/Catalytic Carbon – Carbon is a substance that has a long history of being used to absorb impurities and is perhaps the most powerful absorbent known to man. One pound of carbon contains a surface area of roughly 125 acres and can absorb literally thousands of different chemicals. Activated carbon is carbon which has a slight electro-positive charge added to it, making it even more attractive to chemicals and impurities. As the water passes over the positively charged carbon surface, the negative ions of the contaminants are drawn to the surface of the carbon granules. Some of the contaminants treated include: Chlorine - Chloramines - Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Trihalomethanes (THMs) - Taste and Odor - Heavy Metals
Patented KDF Founded in 1984, KDF is a technological leader in the fluid treatment industry. Beginning with a U.S. patent for KDF redox alloy media in 1987, the company continues its technological innovation. KDF process media are high-purity copper-zinc formulations used in pretreatment, primary treatment, and wastewater applications. KDF media supplement or replace existing technologies to dramatically extend system life, reduce heavy metals, microorganisms, scale, lower total cost, and decrease maintenance. Patented KDF process media are 100 percent recyclable and contain no chemical additives. Hospitals, restaurants, municipal water treatment facilities, and homes rely on KDF® process media to safely reduce or remove chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulfide, heavy metals, and bacteria from their water. KDF is used in the Shower and Home filters. Because of the dual carbon stages, KDF is not required in the S-III.
SPG Volcanic Sand -- Bacterial Protection: The primary filtration medium is SPG Silica, a specially processed volcanic sand. In the Wellness Filter SPG plays a dual role as a protective barrier and as an active agent in the enhancement process. SPG has a micron rating that varies from 0.5 microns to 3 microns and is designed to: Mechanically filter asbestos, dirt, rust, and sediment Enhance water purity and taste SPG is used in the Kitchen and Home systems only. It restricts flow rate too much to be utilized in the Shower and the enhancement effects are only used for drinking.
Magnetite Stone and Ceramic Magnets -- High flux density (greater than 4,500 gauss) magnetic stone and magnets create magnetic field in filter for magnetic resonance activation of the water. Lowers surface tension, increases solubility and increases absorptivity. It makes the water softer and wetter.
Far-Infrared Emitting Ceramic -- Composed of rare Tenko-seki mineral, resulting in a natural ionization that produces the highest quality negative hydrogen and hydroxyl antioxidants. Converts the body's natural heat to rays, facilitates blood flow and soothingly warm. Almost all adult diseases are closely related with the problems of the blood vessels. The flecks, fine wrinkles, rough skin, senility are all caused by the un-eliminated waste matters from the body system. But the health-enhancing bio-ceramic eliminate the waste matters in the blood vessels through capillary expansion. Accelerate the alkalization of the body fluids by the emission of CO2 in the blood vessel.
Bakuhan-seki Mineral -- is a proprietary media used in all Wellness Filters¨. On October 15, 1995, the Japanese Government's Ministry of Health, Drug Approval Division, gave their approval of the bakuhanseki stone as an approved medicine. The stone is approved for medical purposes in powdered form (oral or skin application), dissolved in water, and for use in water filters for bathing and drinking. The Ministry of Health uses Wellness Filter¨ water in their hospitals and in many of their approved health bathing spas. (Note: Because the Bakuhanseki mineral stone is designated as a medicine, treatments in health spas are covered by Japanese Government medical plans.) The Bakuhan mineral adjusts the water to a stable alkaline pH, increases dissolved oxygen, removes harmful substances and enhances the taste of the water. It will also remove lead, mercury, and chromium from tap water. It imparts trace Angstrom size minerals (silica, potassium, and magnesium).

Taicho-seki Mineral -- Imparts unique bio-static properties that work to suppress micro-organisms and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, fungus and algae in filtered water and within the filter housing itself. Also works to neutralize any remaining pesticides or chlorinated organic by-products. Approved by the Kitazato Medical School of Public Health, Tokyo, Japan as a "natural disinfectant", because of its properties to greatly inhibit the growth of fungus and bacteria.
